In near-perfect conditions, Adam Rydwanski overcame a two-stroke deficit to take out his second Men’s Club Championship today.
Adam’s weekend output of 70.71, along with a steady first 36-holes of 73.74 saw him finish on a total of 288 – 3 strokes ahead of the overnight leader Ben Duncombe. First-round leader Matt Prince bounced back again today, to finish in a tie for 3rd place alongside another season campaigner in Justin Nicholson.
Rydwanski’s name will be added to the perpetual trophy and the Club Champions Honour Board seven lines below a similar inscription for his 2016 Championship.
The B Grade Championship was won by Gary Clarke (81.81.82.86 – 330), with Ian Farrington collecting his 5th Runner-up prize after rounds of 81.81.83.87 – 332.
In C Grade, Ross Itzstein held on to claim victory despite shooting his worst round of the Championship. His 88.88.90.92 – 358 total was three strokes clear of Bruce Heseltine (89.89.90.93 – 361.
Scott Bromfield (305) and Sam Fichera (341) took out the Senior and Junior Championships respectively.
